To enhance the sofa arm comfort for Model TIGRE, the designer has added a special pillow and placed it next to each arm interior, where people can rest their arms. These special arm-pillows also resemble the little teeth of a tiger.
The designer believes the theme feature, tigers’ teeth, shall be shown at the prominent position of the sofa, and yet, shall not be affecting the sofa comfort. The sofa arm-frame front has become the perfect choice. The sofa-piping craftsmanship technique has also been applied to deliver the vivid profile of a sharp and pointed tooth.
A contradictory point arose.
How does a soft and comfort-driven sofa resemble tigers’ sharp and pointed teeth?
For the designer’s 2nd attempt of referencing this loved pattern in nature, with a bit less organic and more geometric, and a bit less formal and more playful this time, the signature tiger skin pattern has appeared on Model TIGRE.
Just to be sure this playful act doesn’t downgrade the “seriously” powerful image of an adult tiger; you can only find the small TIGRE arm-chair that features this playful tiger pattern ;)
How about the signature skin pattern of a tiger?
Yes, Kelvin was inspired by this beautiful pattern and designed a feature for a 2017 KELVIN GIORMANI model MAESTRIA IX. The designer has applied a fashion-inspired leather-craftsmanship technique, named “leather-cut-and-stitch”, which means directly stitching small die-cut genuine leather pieces onto a large leather component of a sofa, for showing some ornate and irregular patterns on modern-design leather sofas.
Tiger is a symbol of strength, bravery and power. This symbolism is shared among many cultures, including Chinese. Among the features of a tiger, the designer of the sofa believes that tigers’ teeth, which are sharp and strong, have empowered tigers with the strength and bravery they need to express their power. Tigers’ teeth has become the inspiration of Model TIGRE.
